Set up a process to annually calculate your setting's carbon footprint. Ensure that all necessary data is collected from the relevant sources and coordinate efforts across relevant teams. It can be helpful to develop a plan for this process well in advance, with a clear timeline and established responsibilities.
By calculating your setting's carbon footprint annually, it can be analysed to celebrate successes, identify trends, data gaps, inefficiencies, and key areas for improvement. Regular analysis will allow you to track progress toward decarbonisation goals and highlight specific actions that can further reduce your carbon and greenhouse gas emissions, which can then be incorporated into your annual emissions report.
