Connect with external networks to support your green skills and careers aims

External networks can provide resources, professional development, and partnerships to better equip your learners for the growing green economy. Connecting with them is crucial for supporting your setting's green skills and careers aims, as it broadens opportunities, provides expertise, and helps integrate real-world sustainability challenges into education.

There are a number of different networks you can tap into to help you with this action. For example,
the Careers and Enterprise Company works with settings to develop careers education that includes opportunities in the green economy. Another, the UKGBC, can provide learners with insights into careers in sustainable architecture, green construction, and renewable energy technologies.

The Sustainable Settings Network (SSN) is a national network supporting settings in embedding sustainability and climate education across the curriculum and setting life. The Fairtrade settings programme educates students on the principles of fair trade and sustainable development, linking global sustainability issues to classroom learning. It is also worth exploring your current networks (both national and local), as they may already run initiatives or provide resources that can help you with this action.

Establishing these connections can greatly enhance your setting's efforts to develop your learners' green skills, and make connections between their learning and future careers.
