Let’s Go Zero Climate Action Advisors

Part of Let’s Go Zero, Climate Action Advisors are independent experts who offer free support for schools, colleges, and nurseries across England.

Identify opportunities to increase active travel to and from your setting

Use the results of your travel survey to identify some simple, initial steps you can take to inspire your community to increase their active travel to and from your setting.

There are a range of actions you can take suitable to all types of setting, such as creating walking buses, offering bike safety training, setting up staff incentive schemes, and providing active travel facilities such as buggy storage, bike racks and showers.


It can also be helpful to combine any active travel projects with awareness-raising sessions to create a whole-setting awareness of the benefits of active travel. By promoting active travel, you can improve the health and wellbeing of your community, while reducing carbon emissions and traffic congestion, and fostering a sense of community engagement.
