Collaborate with all your suppliers on biodiversity
At this stage, you will need to engage all your suppliers regarding their practices related to biodiversity, and encourage them to align with your setting’s biodiversity goals.
Identify practical ways to collaboratively support biodiversity, such as sourcing products from certified suppliers like the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Rainforest Alliance, and transitioning away from products linked to deforestation or habitat destruction. Encourage participation in initiatives like tree planting, wildlife-friendly landscaping, or local conservation projects. You can apply your learning from engaging with your significant suppliers to enable this.
This action will help you to prioritise suppliers who are committed to aligning with your biodiversity goals, and will enable you to refine your supplier selection criteria and further shape your supply chain re-procurement plan.
By involving all your suppliers in your biodiversity goals, you ensure a collective effort towards reducing environmental impacts and enhancing ecosystems. This inclusive approach strengthens partnerships and fosters shared responsibility for sustainability.
