Explore funding opportunities that can help you develop and deliver climate education and green skills activities. Grants may support a wide range of projects, including:
- Curriculum development
- Enrichment and character education
- Outdoor learning
- Green careers and activities that develop green skills
Funding opportunities are often targeted at particular age groups. Check carefully that a fund is appropriate for the learners you want to support and that the proposed activities meet the funder's objectives.
Why
What learners understand, experience and develop during their education will shape their future. Investing in climate education can help ensure that learners have the knowledge, skills and confidence to understand climate change, respond to environmental challenges and contribute to a more sustainable future.
How
Most funding pots can be identified and initiated by all staff, including teachers, curriculum leaders, sustainability leads or senior leaders. Make sure you:
- Have a clear idea for an activity or project
- Read the terms and conditions carefully - if your application is successful, make sure you can meet all the requirements before accepting the funding
- Keep records of spending and project outcomes - particularly where these are required by the funder
For groups: settings will often be required to apply for it on an individual basis, not part of a group.
