Partner with organisations to support green skills and careers aims

Reach out to external organisations working locally or regionally to bring additional resource, capacity and expertise to your green skills and careers initiatives. This could help with internships, apprenticeships or mentorship programmes, accessing industry insights, job training programs, and networking opportunities, or practical experience and pathways to prepare learners for careers in green industries.

Use your networks to uncover these, and tap into parental networks where appropriate. Universities often have opportunities available.

Begin to build co-beneficial relationships, helping your learners and community. This collaborative approach bridges the gap between education and industry, ensuring that learners are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the green economy. Additionally, it strengthens connections with the local community. Try to set expectations as early as possible - it may help to pilot a programme in the first instance before seeing how the relationship can develop.

Create a list to save actions and resources, or make a plan for your setting.
