The DfE’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy sets two expectations for education settings in England:
The Education Estates Strategy reinforces these expectations and highlights the importance of sustainable, resilient estates. It also introduces Manage Your Education Estate, where responsible bodies complete an annual return on how they meet the School Estate Management Standards. Settings can use this process to monitor and demonstrate progress on their sustainability and climate-related priorities without duplicating effort.

The Sustainability Support Programme connects you to four types of support:
- Sustainability Support for Education: practical actions and resources to develop your climate action plan

- Let’s Go Zero: tailored advice for schools in England, helping them enjoy greener buildings, transport, menus and more
